Hoy preparé una conversación ficticia entre mi lado más femenino y yo como tarea para mi clase de español de 3 meses que me gustaría usar como entrada de blog de hoy. Consiste en un sketch que escribí en español con traducción al inglés, así como un archivo de audio para su placer auditivo. ¡Disfrutar!

Today I prepared a fictitious conversation between me and my more feminine side as an assignment for my 3-month Spanish class that I'd like to use as today's blog entry. It consists of a skit I wrote out in Spanish with English translation as well as an audio file for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!

SNIPPETS OF SPANISH CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN ME & MY MORE FEMININE SIDE

M1:        Ahhhh, el fin de semana está aquí! Tiempo para un poco de descanso y relajación!

( Ahhhh, the weekend's here! Time for a little rest and relaxation! )

F1:          Oye cariño. ¿Empezaste a lavar la ropa?

              (Hey honey. Did you start the laundry?)

M2:        Ummm, todavía no querida. (En una voz casi interior, muy disminuida: refunfuñar, refunfuñar.)

( Ummm, not yet dear. (In a greatly diminished, nearly inner voice: Grumble, grumble.) )

F2:          ¿Estabas diciendo algo querida?

              ( Were you saying something dear? )

M3:        Eh jejeje... no, no querida. Me pondré manos a la obra.

( Eh hehehe … no, no my dear. I'll get right on it. )

F3:          Ah, y aquí hay una lista de algunas cosas que necesitaremos de la tienda de comestibles, y luego, ir a nuestro restaurante favorito a comprar algo para llevar. Estoy demasiado cansada para cocinar algo esta noche.

              ( Oh, and here's a list of some things we'll need from the grocery store, and afterwards, go to our favorite restaurant to get some take out. I'm too tired to cook anything tonight. )

M4:        (Después de casi una hora:) Hola mi amor. Acabo de volver.

               ( (After nearly an hour:) Hi my love. I just got back. )

F4:          Cariño, me estoy secando el pelo. Necesitaba darme una ducha rápida. ¿Puedes ponernos la mesa?

               ( Honey, I'm drying my hair. I needed to take a quick shower. Can you set the table for us? )

M5:        Claro, mi bollo de miel (mientras tanto, le doy un aspecto de frente al juego de para niños "Angry Birds", sin ruido, por supuesto.).

               ( Sure my honey bun (meanwhile giving a children's "Angry Birds" game brow look, without noise, of course.). )

F5:          (Veinte minutos después, entra mi yo sonrosado.) Comamos. Estoy muerto de hambre ¡Poneste mal la mesa! Y guarda todas las cosas azucaradas. Vamos a comer sano esta noche. ¡Y limpia esas cejas de Angry Bird de tu cara!

               ( (20 minutes later, my rosy self enters.) Let's eat. I'm starved. You set the table all wrong! And put all the sugary things away. We're eating healthy tonight. And wipe those Angry Bird brows off of your face!)

M6:        (Comiendo en silencio inicialmente. Con miedo y temblor se atreve a preguntar:) Entonces, ¿cómo estuvo tu día?

               ( (Eating in silence initially. In fear and trembling he dares ask:) So, how was your day? )

F6:          No me hagas empezar. Estaba siguiendo a tu papá en el trabajo hoy. ¿Puedes creer que mi jefe me pidió que entretuviera a su hija mientras él se iba a una "cita para almorzar" con algunos clientes en el campo de golf? Y, por si fuera poco, Araceli pensó que podría ser mi jefa en su ausencia y empezó a dar órdenes a diestro y siniestro. Y… (Claro, podemos continuar con este monólogo por un buen rato, pero ¿por qué debería hacerte pasar por eso?).

               ( Don't get me started. It was shadowing your Dad at work today. Can you believe my boss asked me to entertain his daughter while he left for a ”lunch date” with some clients on the golf course? And, if that wasn't enough, Araceli thought she could be my boss in his absence and started giving orders left and right. And … (Of course, we can continue this monologue for a good while, but why should I put you through that?). )

M7:        (En el asilo de su mente, todo lo que podía oír era:) No puedo esperar a que llegue el lunes cuando esté de vuelta en la oficina. (Por cierto, este sketch soñado fue escrito por un hombre soltero, CALVO, que vive solo.)

               ( In the asylum of his mind, all he could hear was:) I can't wait for Monday to roll around when I'm back at the office. (Incidentally, this dreamed                     up skit was written by a single, BALD male who lives by himself. )
